Notable

Hofstra is a mid-size private university on Long Island, 25 miles east of Manhattan. Its proximity to NYC is a major draw for internships and career placement. Generous merit scholarships are available (up to full tuition for top applicants). The relatively small undergraduate body (~6,600) provides a more personal experience than nearby large publics. Hofstra hosted presidential debates in 2008, 2012, and was selected again in 2016, raising its national profile.
